Mr. Keyes most recently held the position of President and Chief Operating officer of Battle Mountain Gold Company from 1999 to his retirement in 2001. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Vice President - Operations for Battle Mountain with responsibilities for operations in United States, Canada, Bolivia, Chile and Australia.

Mr. Keyes received his Bachelor of Science Mine Engineering degree from Michigan Technological University and successfully completed an executive Master of Business Administration program at the University of Toronto. He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
